chemicals and microplastics. Producing just one kilo of cotton can consume around 8,000 litres of water, while
fabric dyeing adds further waste and toxins to the environment. And after all that, most fabric window coverings
last less than a decade before ending up in a landfill.
At MYT, we believe there’s a better way. Our shutters are made to last a lifetime – crafted from sustainably
sourced materials, coated with low-VOC, water-based paints, and produced in our own facilities where water is
filtered and reused to reduce waste. We even recycle our cut-offs, ensuring nothing goes to landfill unnecessarily.

MYT is leading the way in the industry with our sustainable packaging. We have cut out 97% of polystyrene, meaning no more harmful non-recyclable materials that will end up in our landfills.

In our new high tech paint room we designed a way to reduce 14% of our water usage, and with our filtration system we enable water to be cleaned and re-used, therefore reducing water wastage.
We’re rethinking every detail to make our production cleaner and smarter. By 2027, we aim to go fully paperless, shifting all production to digital systems to reduce waste even further. Every step brings us closer to a carbon-neutral future.
