How do MYT’s external electric shutters work?
MYT’s motorised shutters are powered by a wired 24V motor that can be operated by remote control or through a control hub. Panels can be grouped and programmed to preset angles for easy adjustment. The motor is discreetly positioned behind the shutter panel, operating the blades through a connecting rod system. This design ensures smooth, reliable movement while keeping the mechanism hidden and protected — maintaining both performance and a streamlined look.
What size and design options are available for external motorised shutters?
Choose horizontal or vertical aluminium shutters, available in 89mm S blade or 130mm elliptical blade for a bigger and more modern finish. Our electric aluminium shutters are also available in 5 custom-shaped panels, as long as it has a vertical side stile — offering flexibility and options for openings which are hard to reach.
Does MYT have electric shutters for the interior?
Not yet — but they’re coming soon. We’re currently perfecting our motorised timber shutters for indoor spaces, designed to bring the same smooth, effortless control as our outdoor range. Controlled by our Supatilt invisible tilt mechanism, these electric shutters for inside will offer silent operation with a timeless design. As with every MYT product, we’re taking the time to ensure they meet our highest standards before release — because quality comes first.

Aluminium shutters are highly weather-resistant due to the strength of the material and the way they’re built. At MYT, we use T6-grade aluminium—a high-quality alloy known for its durability and resistance to corrosion. Each shutter is finished with a scratch-resistant powder coating, which protects against moisture, UV rays, and harsh outdoor conditions. This makes our aluminium plantation shutters ideal for patios, balconies, and exterior windows in all climates.
